Dell Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse

I installed the standard Dell Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.  On initial boot, KB and mouse worked great.  After first round of Microsoft updates, KB and mouse both would not connect.  After a system restore, KB and mouse were fine.  Heve not found a resolution besides disabling updates.

AMD Processor

I encountered many inexplicable network errors at a client the other day. The most strange was when I pinged the server, I got results the were negative. I tracked the problem down with a search on the Internet to a timing issue with the Dual Core AMD processor. Credit to this post http://wiki.ljackson.us/Negative_Ping_Time. It references the AMD site for a patch to fix the issue. This has been a frequent problem with AMD processors that has motivated me to switch to installing Dells with Intel processors only.

Installing Dentrix 11.0

After the client install, make sure to run Component Update 5 on the server and all workstations. If installing antivirus, exclude from the local Dentrix program directory from scanning (usually c:\program files\dentrix), the network Dentrix directory, and the dentrix.ini file (usually found in c:\windows\system). Set the printers manually in Office Manager and Chart.

Installing Kodak Digital Imaging

Install the software on the server first. Select Server install. You must use the CD on each client install. After install, run the Kodak bridge software. That is an executable that is found in the install directory on C:\ After it is executed, right-click on the Kodak logo that has appeared in the upper-right corner of the desktop and select preferences. Change the UNC path to the mapped drive (usually T:\). Open KDS and select preferences from the top. Change the UNC to the mapped drive path. All USB sensors are installed from the "Install Hardware" link on the CD's autorun menu.
